I suppose it is still not too late to wish Eid Mubarak” and “Selamat Hari Raya” to all IMT-GT Muslim members.
We, from CIMT wish you all a happy celebration and hopefully the upcoming months will be blessed with good tidings and good progress in the IMT-GT.
With the recent Symposium on Energy Saving and Biofuel Utilization in Songkhla, Thailand, it is a good time for IMT-GT to look back and see what we can do to contribute in minimizing energy usage and looking out for renewable energy options in our day to day operations be it in the industry or the commercial sector. We always to remember that in whatever we do we must always be sustainable in consuming energy as well as other natural resources.
The upcoming IMT-GT Summit in Hanoi, Vietnam, would probably see IMT-GT pushing for a cooperation in Food Safety and High Value Agriculture with Japan prompting a relation with Japan as a new Development Partner for IMT-GT. A series of related projects may be implemented if this come to pass and will improve IMT-GT relations with Japan significantly.
In the upcoming months the inaugural CIQ Task Force Meeting is to be held in Malaysia. The agenda of this highly anticipated meeting is outlining the Memorandum of Understanding of the CIQ and CIQ standard operating procedures. This meeting is another step in transforming the IMT-GT region into a dynamic and economically viable area as well as realising the ASEAN integration in ASEAN Economic Community Vision in 2015.
